It is finally here…ITS STATE TIME BABY!!!!! These next few days are my favorite and most dreaded days of the year. We as a group have put together an impressive season. Lets go finish what we started. We had a great final practice of the year, although it was optional all those that qualified made it to practice showing once again why they made it to the show. That dedication has shown through all year. State is a different tournament and we only get to bring those that qualified. No managers or other teammates can accompany us. You are more than welcome go come to the tournament and sit with the fans an cheer us on.
Ladies as I have said the last few weeks…Check your boxes and make sure you have nothing else on your mind but the task at hand. Remember the next few days are all about you so be selfish the next few days and make yourselves proud.
Okay…First thing first… Since you had school cancelled today the NSAA have given you an extra pound allowance. So with that as an example if you are wrestling 110 you can weigh 113 or if you wrestle 155 you can weigh 158 (not pointing out specific people or anything lol)
Tuesday 2/18…We will meet at the school at 11:30am and leave for the state tournament at 11:45am. Weigh ins are at 2:30pm and Wrestling starts at 4:00pm. Tuesday we will only wrestle the first 2 round of championship side. EVERYONE makes it to day 2. We will be staying the night at the Hilton Downtown Omaha (the one attached to the CHI Center).
Wednesday 2/19… Wake up at 6:00am, Leave the hotel at 6:30am, Weigh Ins at 7:30am, Wrestling starts at 9:00am. Session 2 will start with 2 rounds of consolation, 12:30pm starts the semi finals and heartbreak round followed by the consolation semis and 3rd & 5th place matches. Session 3 starts at 6:30 for finals!!!
No one can leave unless signed out with Coach Everett and I will not be available until after our team is done with finals. Traditionally, we go eat as a team after state finals and have a final season ending meeting in the den.
