Good Evening, by now I am sure that your kids have told you that we had a discussion today about our readiness for this weekend. I talked to the team about the fast that we had 2 straight lack luster practices and we were starting on a third. I told them that i am not confident that if we continue down this road that we will be ready for this weekend. We have sick and hurt athletes and we are not performing in a manner that makes me comfortable with putting them on the mat. We talked about readiness and pushing through barriers. I finished our discussion with giving the team a decision to make as a team without the coaches. The decision was either everyone step up and find what is needed to practice and compete this weekend or we admit we cant do it and cancel practice the next few days and extend the Christmas break so that we can recover.
The team decided among themselves that they were going to step up and compete. They decided they wanted to challenge themselves and see what they are made of.
To say that i am proud of them for it is an understatement. This is a great group of athletes and humans. They chose to make life hard now so its easy later. They chose to battle themselves and their feelings.

I am very proud of them and their decision. I am proud to lead this team
